The AI4COPSEC project made waves at the IEEE OCEANS 2025 Conference in Brest, where one of our partners, Gwenaele Jan from eOdyn, unveiled the MELODI drifter, a real-time ocean observation device developed as part of our ongoing effort to harness AI for coastal security and environmental monitoring.
This innovative platform demonstrates the power of collaborative AI, machine learning (ML), and deep learning (DL) technologies in improving situational awareness in coastal and marine environments.
Attendees could learn how AI4COPSEC partners are working together to advance autonomous systems for ocean intelligence. These conversations emphasized the growing importance of real-time data in supporting secure, sustainable, and smart coastal operations.
IEEE OCEANS 2025 is a premier international conference and exhibition focused on maritime innovation. It took place at Le Quartz in Brest, France, from June 16–19, 2025, bringing together engineers, scientists, policymakers, and industry leaders to advance ocean observation, surveillance, and sustainability.
