At the EU Space Days 2025, taking place on May 27–28 in Gdańsk, Poland, our partner Yann Guichoux, CEO of eOdyn, will present our innovative AI4COPSEC project, a Horizon Europe initiative set to reshape maritime security through artificial intelligence and Earth Observation data.
The event, organized by the European Commission under the Polish Presidency of the Council of the European Union, will be hosted at Amber Expo. It promises to be a central gathering for Europe’s space, defence, and security communities. Bringing together policymakers, industry leaders, researchers, and startups, EU Space Days 2025 will offer a vibrant agenda filled with speeches, panel discussions, workshops, and networking opportunities. The event also coincides with InfoShare 2025, Central and Eastern Europe’s largest tech and startup conference, further enhancing opportunities for cross-sector collaboration and innovation.
Against this dynamic backdrop, AI4COPSEC will take centre stage. The project, coordinated by Simula Research Laboratory with eOdyn as the technical lead, aims to integrate advanced AI and machine learning techniques with data from the Copernicus satellite programme. The goal is to strengthen Europe’s ability to monitor and respond to maritime challenges such as oil spills, illegal fishing, and irregular migration. By leveraging self-supervised learning, GeoAI models, and real-time data processing, AI4COPSEC is expected to deliver faster, more accurate insights to support maritime security and environmental protection.
The AI4COPSEC presentation will take place on 28 May during a dedicated 1-hour session starting at 12:00 PM, with Yann Guichoux taking a 10-minute slot to introduce the project and its vision for advancing AI-driven maritime security solutions.
