AI4COPSEC was proudly represented by project partner ITML at the Conference on “Riding the Wave: Advancing the EU Ocean Pact through Science, Innovation and Cooperation”, organised under the Cyprus Presidency of the Council of the European Union and held in Ammochostos, Cyprus, on 11–12 May 2026.
The event brought together representatives from EU institutions, Member States, research organisations, industry, and innovation platforms to discuss how ocean science and maritime innovation can better support European policy, competitiveness, and sustainability. The conference was also endorsed as part of the UN Decade of Ocean Science for Sustainable Development.
ITML participated with an exhibition stand during the second day of the conference, where AI4COPSEC project materials and activities were presented to attendees from across the European maritime and research communities. The event attracted an estimated 200 participants on the first day and approximately 500 participants on the second day, when the exhibition area and booths were active.
During the networking and exhibition sessions, around 50 AI4COPSEC flyers were distributed, helping raise awareness about the project’s objectives, technological innovations, and contribution to maritime security and cooperation through advanced AI-driven solutions.
The participation provided an excellent opportunity to engage with stakeholders from policy, industry, and research sectors, while strengthening the visibility of AI4COPSEC within the broader European maritime innovation ecosystem.
