AI4COPSEC represents a cutting-edge approach to maritime surveillance and security through advanced AI technologies.
AI4COPSEC integrates state-of-the-art AI solutions with Copernicus satellite data to address urgent environmental and security challenges. With a focus on self-supervised deep learning models, geomatics, and social media data, AI4COPSEC seeks to revolutionize maritime surveillance and environmental crisis response through cutting-edge technological innovations.
Main Objectives
01
Integrating Multiple Data Sources
Analyse and integrate multiple space and non-space data sources (EO, AIS, OSINT, IoT) to provide high-quality environmental and security information.
02
Advancing AI/ML Models
Develop and test advanced self-supervised AI/ML models (Geomatics/GeoAI, deep learning) for anomaly detection and faster decision-making.
03
Enhancing Maritime & Border Surveillance
Develop modular technological solutions (REA, SOD, SHI, EVD, AAD, DAN) for enhanced maritime and border surveillance.
04
CSS Near Real-Time Intelligence
Demonstrate AI4COPSEC solutions in the operational Copernicus Security Service (CSS) environment, focusing on near real-time event detection and localisation.
Use Cases
AI4COPSEC is developing four ambitious use cases to demonstrate
the potential of the project’s CSS enhancements in real-world operational scenarios:
Consortium
AI4COPSEC is coordinated by Simula Research Laboratory and eOdyn (technical coordinator) and supported by an interdisciplinary consortium of ten partners from these seven European countries. Each partner brings specific expertise in the field of maritime surveillance, intelligence and artificial intelligence technologies.
